Mai’Poin’a ‘oe Ia’u Beach Park is located in North Kihei. It is narrow, and roughly a mile long. Mai’Poin’a ‘oe Ia’u Beach Park features a beautiful sandy beach with relatively calm waters. It is a great place to swim and snorkel in the mornings, but in the afternoon the winds tend to pick up- it’s known locally as one of the best kite boarding beaches for this reason.
There is usually plenty of shade at this beach, and there is a small pavilion at one end with restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and some barbeque grills. As far as a beach goes, it’s a nice spot to hang out (especially if you want to watch some wind surfing) but there are better, bigger beaches in the area.
