Along the Pali Highway, one can stop at Leoda’s before checking into your hotel on Maui’s west side. Start your vacation off with one of their hand held fresh baked pies. Sweet apple or berry pie or even a savory mushroom, corn or carnitas; these small compact pie packs enough flavor and filling to recharge anyone just off the plane. However with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, one can also stop on the way to and from Hana, Haleakala, or any other adventure on the other side of the island.
Leoda’s has a whole selection of salads, but for a unique, tasty experience try the fried salad with brussels sprout leaves, burnt orange vinaigrette, celery leaves, mixed hydroponic greens, radish and local mint. The sandwiches and burgers served on fresh baked buns is a great choice on your way out of town or if you’re just in the mood for something homestyle and off the main drag, and the chicken pot pies are a favorite for both young and old. Pick up a roast pork or cheese steak hoagie before hitting the beaches that line the Pali and then go for a snorkel—just be sure to wait an hour before jumping into the ocean!
